Ok, I don't know why, but this site pulls at my heartstrings for some reason. This beautiful home was located along the Main Line, outside of Philadelpha, PA.This website is an excellent resource of information on Whitemarsh Hall. It gives the history, tons of photographs, the building plans and documents the house up until its demolition in April 1980. This kind of craftsmenship needed to be preserved and is now lost forever. Oh, to be a kid running around exploring the many rooms and underground levels. Just thinking about it depresses me. Hopefully it'll get a reaction out of you.

For those of us who love taking pictures, and have a passion for old, creepy buildings, here's a web site from the Ohio Trespassers. They aren't active anymore but their web site is an archival account of all the interesting places they've explored. They used to locate old mansions, hospitals, and asylums and go exploring. They took lots of cool photos and tried to not only tell their story, but to give a history of the location as well.

This is a recent find for me. A podcast by Dustin Diaz, a web developer for Yahoo!, that explains the basics of YUI. As someone that is not new to programming but is new to the world of AJAX I found the podcast quite easy to follow and understand. Excellent job. Look around his site for more helpful tutorials and code examples.

While listening to Howard Stern on Sirius, Howard and Artie peaked my interest with a book they were reading, A Confederacy of Dunces written by John Kennedy Toole. I haven't begun reading it yet, but I can't wait to read it.

I'm on a mission. I've been programming in PHP and MySQL for 6 years and have grown pretty restless. I've played around with AJAX (Asynchronous JavaScript and XML) a couple of times but never truly understood everything. So on my travels throughout the internet I'm gathering links to tutorials and examples that will help me in my mission to better understand AJAX. This tutorial gives step-by-step instructions on how to create the connection to the MySQL database. Easy read and a good tutorial.
